Mike Cartee, attorney since 1979, served as Assistant District Attorney before starting private practice in Tuscaloosa in 1983. Admitted to various federal and state courts, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. 

John Lloyd, a University of Alabama graduate with honors in 1989, has represented accident victims since 1992, recovering millions in verdicts and settlements. As President of the Tuscaloosa Bar Association, he’s shown leadership and served on various bar committees. 

Michael Cartee

Mike Cartee has been an attorney since 1979. Mike represented the people of the State of Alabama as an Assistant District Attorney for the Bessemer Division of Jefferson County, Alabama, from 1979 to 1982. He began his private law practice in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in 1983. Mike is admitted to practice law before the United States District Court for the Northern District, the United States District Court for the Middle District Northern, the United States District Court for the Southern District, The United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, The Alabama Supreme Court and all of the circuits in the State of Alabama. He has also appeared in other state and federal courts on a pro-hac basis.

Mike has been a member of the Tuscaloosa County Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar Association, the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Bar Association.

John Lloyd

John Lloyd graduated from the University of Alabama in 1989 with honors and received his Juris Doctor in Law from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1992. In 1992, he began his law career as an attorney with Shelby & Cartee Law Firm (now Cartee & Lloyd) in Tuscaloosa, where he has had the privilege of representing victims involved in accidents from all over Alabama and the United States. He has handled thousands of cases involving accident and injury law, recovering millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements for his clients. From 1993 to 2022, John also had the distinguished honor of being legal counsel for Alabama’s United States Senator Richard Shelby’s federal election committees. 

John was elected by his peers to serve as President of the Tuscaloosa Bar Association and also served two years as Vice President and Treasurer of the Tuscaloosa Bar Association. He has served on the Alabama State Bar Committee on Disciplinary Rules and Enforcement. John is a member of the Tuscaloosa Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar, and the American Association for Justice. He has also served on several state and local bar planning committees and panels. He is admitted to the Supreme Court of Alabama, the United States District Court of Alabama, and all of the Circuit and Districts Courts in the State of Alabama. 

John has represented clients in state and federal courts in Alabama. He represents plaintiffs in various types of cases, including auto accidents, trucking litigation, wrongful death, premises liability, insurance fraud and bad faith, disability, and work-related injuries.
